The images in this post were taken on Dec. 12, 2007 when, for the 100 años de la aviación civil argentina (100 years of Argentine Civil Aviation), a Boeing 737-500 “LV-BEO” belonging to the Aerolineas Argentinas performed a really low flyby over the Aeroparque at Buenos Aires. Photographs were taken by an accompanying IAI Pampa jet trainer that escorted the jet liner along with a Learjet.

The poor altitude warning computer must have been completely losing its shit in there

TAWS has an inhibit button for just such tomfoolery (It's really there in case of other failures to inhibit nuisance warnings, but can be misappropriated for tomfoolery)

Certainly not the first time Aerolineas Argentinas did this, they did another low fly-by when they retired the 737-200.

I know Im a few says late in replying.. but next time you're on a flight, turn on a GPS speedometer on your phone. (you might have to put the phone by the window to get a signal)
I usually get around 440mph when cruising.

I've done that with a stand alone GPS. I know its common, but 400-500 mph?! that's amazing! I guess I am one of the rare ones that still gets a kick out of flying.
